Force 3 to Support U.S. Census Data Virtualization
As the Network Security Company, Force 3 will support the bureau’s modernization, technology and cost-saving efforts
U.S. Census Bureau recently named Force 3 as the sole award recipient of a new blanket purchase agreement (BPA) designed to support its ongoing mission technologically transform the 2020 Census.
“The goal of the Census Bureau is to leverage virtualization in the collection of the 2020 census,” said Force 3 CEO Mike Greaney in the Baltimore and Washington D.C. editions of CityBizList online. “Force 3’s unique knowledge and expertise in the installation and service of leading VMware products means we have the capabilities to help the Bureau meet this goal, implement smart and secure solutions, and do so in the most cost-effective manner possible.”
Worth an estimated $18 million, the contract is scheduled to run through March 31, 2020 and calls for Force 3 to install and maintain VMware products in U.S. Census data centers, as reported in the Baltimore Business Journal. As part of the agreement, Force 3 will analyze current data virtualization infrastructure operations, recommend design changes and provide solutions to complex data and design problems.
